With the release of its debut shoe, RTFKT, the web3 brand that Nike acquired, seems to be entering the offline market.
The shoe seems to be the most recent chapter in the RTFKT x Nike saga, as the two recently collaborated on a Clone X line that was inspired by the Air Force 1 and could be minted and later redeemed in physical form.
Images of the RTFKT x Nike shoe received by Nice Kicks suggest a colorway inspired by the Nike "Mag" with the addition of the Swoosh's renowned electronic lacing system, Adapt. The tongue, straps, heel counter, and midsole of the shoe all have RTFKT logos, along with text that reads "CRYPTOKICKS iRL" and "RTFKT." In 2019, Nike submitted a CryptoKicks patent for footwear that works with blockchains.
The colorway sports a wolf grey upper and light teal accents as a continuation of the Nike “Mag” legacy that hasn’t been revisited since the Nike Adapt BB 2.0 from 2020.
